‘88 More Reasons To Love San Diego’
By Frank Sabatini Jr.
America’s Finest City was recently credited for boasting some choice attributes beyond its weather, beaches, diverse neighborhoods, breweries, and Mexican food.
For starters, the University of California at San Diego was named for flaunting the nine-largest number of top researchers in the world, according to the British science-data company, Clarivate. It put the number of “highly cited” researchers and scientists at 56. And that isn’t counting the 32 “elite scholars” exerting their brain power at our city’s prestigious facilities such as the Salk Institute, Rady Children’s Hospital, Scripps Research, and others.
On a more frolicking note, San Diego was ranked the “Number 1 funnest place to live in the country” by U.S. News & World Report.
Need we ask why? Not really. But for the record, the honor was based on our city’s sunshine, restaurants, and amazing beaches. Surveyors for the report analyzed 150 cities within the U.S., while also factoring in people’s desire to live in those cities.
