‘Soul Swap Meet’ in North Park

In an effort to promote local Black entrepreneurs, the renewed Soul Swap Meet has returned with free admission and at a new location.

The event, hosted by Shala Waines of Creative Vibes, was previously held at Kobey’s Swap Meet in the Midway District with an admission fee. But it moved a couple months ago to the grassy lawns of North Park Community Park at 2720 Howard Ave., where it kicks into action from 11a to 4p on the third Saturday of every month–and free of charge.

Visitors can expect to see nearly 50 vendors taking part each month as they sell everything from jewelry and home décor to natural beauty products, confections, unique art and more. In addition, organizers tell us there is a beer and wine garden in the works.
