Construction of a highly anticipated two-acre park called East Village Green is underway and slated to be completed in early 2025, according to the City of San Diego.
The park will offer a host of amenities such as a large central lawn for public and private gatherings, a performance pavilion, a playground, an interactive water feature, and an off-leash dog area.
Located between 13th, F, 15th, and G streets, the project’s signature feature will be a two-story, 14,000-square-foot recreation center housing a basketball court, demo kitchen, and rooms for community gatherings. In addition, an underground parking garage accessible from G Street will provide nearly 180 public parking spaces.
The entire project is estimated to cost $55 million, with some of the funding being sourced from SANDAG grant monies and parking meter funds.
