They say that when eating without sight, our senses of smell and taste become dramatically heightened. Having taken part in a “dark dining” supper in the past, we can attest.
Organizers of the Dining in the Dark dinner series have returned to San Diego to present a three-course meal consumed while blindfolded. Participants will discover the full potential of their taste buds as they clumsily fork their way through a spectrum of flavors and textures. The experience is fun and enlightening.
Diners can choose between seafood, red meat and vegan meals. The dinner will be held at 8:30 p.m., Sept. 20, at the University Club Atop Symphony Towers. The cost is $80, which doesn’t include drinks and tip. Guests must be at least 12 years of age. Reservations are required.
