New Retailers Coming to The Waldorf Apartments in North Park

By Frank Sabatini Jr.

What used to be a store called the Waldorf House of Television in the 1940s, and a candy shop before that, has come under mixed-use development by Purpose Real Estate Group. The circa-1923 structure now boasts 12 “boutique” apartment units on two floors, ranging from studios to two-bedrooms. It is also making way for Moniker General Outpost, plus a full-service Mexican restaurant (still unnamed) run by the owners of Sunday Breakfast Society in Chula Vista. The restaurant is slated to open later this year.

Both businesses will occupy designated retail spaces on the ground floor with the goal of becoming yet another community hub for North Park.

Moniker General Outpost is due to open by mid to late January. It will be tailored after its Liberty Station shop, where signature coffee drinks are served amid the company’s line of clothing, home accessories and gift items.
