525 Olive in Bankers Hill is Open For Rent
By Frank Sabatini Jr.
It has rightfully earned the title of “tallest residential building in San Diego.”
Known as 525 Olive, the structure looms 20 stories above the adjacent St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, which has secured second-level space for its new offices.
The luxury apartment building boasts 300,000 square feet and carries a hefty construction price tag of $100 million. Compared to nearby neighborhoods such as Hillcrest, Little Italy, and the rest of Downtown, where building development has been robust, this project has single-handedly dominated the Bankers Hill landscape due to its height and unique amenities.
Incoming residents will enjoy everything from keyless entry doors and a pet spa with grooming stations to “organic courtyards,” a gym with modern fitness equipment, electric-vehicle charging stations, and a sky lounge outfitted with a full kitchen.
Floor plans include one, two, and three-bedroom units ranging from 533 to 1,625 square feet. Penthouse suites are also available. Monthly lease prices range from about $3,700 to $9,546.
