‘An Encore for San Diego’

By Frank Sabatini Jr.

No, it isn’t a case of deja vu. The city of San Diego has once again been named by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the top 25 places to live and work—this time for 2022. As we reported several months ago, the Hollywood-industry publication bestowed the same honor upon our fine city in 2021.

We rank No. 17 on the list based on surveys, financial incentives, and recent movie and television productions. Some of those projects San Diego was able to attract included Netflix’s “Purple Hearts,” Amazon Prime’s “The Terminal List,” and several reality TV shows.

Magazine staffers made personal visits to many of the nation’s cities to also assess their health and safety practices as they relate to the Covid pandemic.
