Australian-Founded Store and Gathering Space Coming to Bankers Hill

What started out as an upscale convenience-type store in Perth, Australia, and then floated over to Encinitas and La Jolla, is now coming to 525 Olive, a mixed-use residential tower in Bankers Hill.

Known as MRKT SPACE, owners Alex Brinis and Matt Power secured first-floor lease space at the new high rise, where they will continue to advance their concept of a community eating-and-drinking establishment that also sells international food and gift products.

Their in-house menu will offer everything from “egg cups” and gourmet sandwiches to flat breads and light, healthy dinners. Oh, and did we mention there’ll be plenty of wine and cocktails in the offing?

Look for an early 2024 opening.
