Rendering of Park Summit in Bankers Hill (Floit Properties/JWDA Architects)

Tallest Building in Bankers Hill Nearing Completion

By Frank Sabatini Jr.

Park Summit at 555 Upas St. is due to open in late June. Situated on the border of Hillcrest in Bankers Hill, it will be the highest mixed-use structure in the neighborhood, rising 21 stories and flaunting 265 upscale apartments. There will also be 8,000 square feet of space for restaurants and retail shops on the ground floor.

To the delight of prospective tenants, the tower comes with 330 parking spaces in underground levels. Ninety-six of them will be rigged with electric-vehicle charging stations. For many city dwellers who are eyeballing new developments, the rare amenity of onsite parking is more desirable than a pool, gym, Zen garden and fire pits, which Park Summit also includes.

Developed by nearby Floit Properties, the project is designed by downtown-based JWDA Architects, which fashioned other local apartment towers such as 525 Olive in Bankers Hill, Simone in Little Italy, and the 40-story giant known as 800 Broadway.
