Attention Museum Goers
By Frank Sabatini Jr.
Thanks to the San Diego Museum Council, local residents can enjoy 50 percent off admission to more than 60 San Diego County museums, historical sites, gardens, zoos and aquariums throughout the entire month of February. The money-saving offer ties into our city’s 35th annual Museum Month.
On the list is downtown’s new Brain Observatory headed by neuroscientist Dr. Jacopo Annese. The showroom/laboratory allows visitors to observe brain research in the making, and also offers art and science activities for kids.
Or if you still haven’t experienced the 360-degree kinetic visual immersions at the newish WNDR, now’s a good time to visit. The museum is home to a host of experimental installations that fuse together art and technology through splashy lights and colors.
Additional participants this month include Comic-Con Museum, the Fleet Science Center, and the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum, all in Balboa Park, as well as the Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton, the JA Cooley Museum in North Park, and more.
A single pass is your ticket to all of the half-price admissions. Each pass is good for four repeat visits per museum. They can be picked up at any San Diego City library or libraries around the county.
