Cuck Fancer, Drink Beer
By Frank Sabatini Jr.
Call it a cancer-fighting celebration fueled by scads of hops, malts, and suds. Yes, the Best Coast Beer Fest returns from 1-4p, July 16. It will be held at downtown’s bayside Waterfront Park.
Attendees can expect to sip on the latest and greatest releases from more than 100 breweries taking part. We’re digging the fact that general admission includes unlimited samples—so none of that eight-ounce allotment nonsense that makes you pay after that. Tickets are $65 until July 10, and $70 thereafter. Live entertainment and a souvenir tasting cup are also included.
At the VIP level, you get access to limited-edition and reserve beers, plus early entry (at noon), free snacks, and “executive restrooms” that may or may not feature an attendant dispensing spiffy hand towels. The price for a VIP ticket is $120 until July 10, and $150 thereafter.
Proceeds from ticket sales and partnerships will go to Cuck Fancer, a grassroots organization that helps young adults impacted by cancer get their lives back on track. Another portion of profits will be earmarked for helping Ukrainian refugee families settle temporarily in San Diego.
