Did You Know…

…that the “Little Red Bungalow” in the heart of Mission Hills that preservationists desperately tried saving has been demolished? It wasn’t until a recent drive-by that we noticed the adorable structure had gone poof.
Located at 820 Fort Stockton, the Craftsman-style house was razed to make way for an eight-story housing structure backed by Los Angeles developer Steven Yari. It was 111 years old and served as a residence, pet store and boutique over its long history, per our recent coverage of the painful battle between advocates and opponents of the bungalow’s fate. Development of the now-empty lot will reportedly begin early next year.
