A magnet for celebrities? (By Frank Sabatini Jr.)

Did You Know…

…that according to media outlet Visit California and a couple of our trusty nightlife informants, the two San Diego hot spots that have attracted the most celebrity sightings in the past couple years are Barbusa in Little Italy and Lionfish in The Gaslamp Quarter.
At Barbusa, the likes of Conan O’Brien, Jack Harlow and Aaron Paul were seen supping on the restaurant’s modern Sicilian cuisine with little fuss. Although we’re told that O’Brien allowed for a few fan photos on India Street after slyly slipping out the front door at the end of his meal.
Amid the hubbub of Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp, celebrities such as Mariah Carey, Cameron Diaz, Megan Fox, and Jon Hamm have been spotted traipsing through the Pendry Hotel en route to the hotel’s Lionfish restaurant. Tables are spread across a somewhat open floor plan covering more than 4,000 square feet, so it isn’t the most ideal layout for famous folk who want to remain discrete. But as we all agree, most of them thrive on public adulation.
