Going Once, Going Twice…and Still No Takers

The circa-1950 building that houses Caffe Calabria, a coffee roaster and pizzeria, remains up for sale despite gradual price reductions. Located in the heart of North Park at 3933 30th St., the vintage structure was once home to a bank before restaurateur Arne Holt took it over in 2001 to open the business at the start of the neighborhood’s modern-day renaissance.
Holt initially put the property on the market a few years ago with the hopes of retiring soon. In 2022 it was listed at $9 million. Today it could be yours for $6.3 million. Although keep in mind there is a devoted patronage that would rather see the cafe’s highly rated coffee and Neapolitan-style pizzas stick around for an eternity—and rightfully so.
The 15,690-square-foot building has three levels, which includes a basement. It comes with a kitchen and a full liquor license, and retains its retro-classic character with exposed red brick and high ceilings. Oh, the possibilities.
