‘Green’ Honors for San Diego
By Frank Sabatini Jr.
Thanks in part to The City of San Diego’s recently approved Climate Action Plan, the financial resource company, WalletHub, has named us the ‘greenest city in America.’
The survey examined 100 of the nation’s largest cities in a comparison analysis that took into account greenhouse gas emissions, park spaces, bike lanes, percentages of drivers, and regularity of farmers markets.
San Diego came out shining at the very top. We were followed by Portland, OR; Honolulu; Freemont, CA; and Washington, D.C.
If you’re wondering what cities sit at the bottom of the list, look no further than Phoenix’s suburban municipalities of Gilbert, Glendale and Mesa.
