More Improvements and Upgrades at Hob Nob Hill

By Frank Sabatini Jr.

The Bankers Hill restaurant known for slinging reliable American fare over the past 79 years is finding new ways to stay noticeably relevant. For the first time in its illustrious history, Hob Nob Hill has ventured into the late-night arena.

With a full bar and special menu in place, the restaurant extended its hours on Friday and Saturday nights to 2:00a. And it will soon designate a side entrance for night crawlers arriving after 10:00p. When it does, look for the door sign that reads: “Open Late Cocktails.”

In addition, the restaurant recently upgraded its kitchen equipment and added golden lighting along the exterior roof line. These latest enhancements come on the heels of a dramatic interior remodel that took place nearly three years ago.

“We’re doing some flourish now,” said Hob Nob’s marketing manager Edwin Real, who also pointed to several hearty dishes found on the newly created late-night menu. They include potato skins, steak and eggs, Cincinnati chili, tuna melts, smash burgers and more.

“We realized that San Diego doesn’t have many nighttime spots. Someone has to provide that for us; otherwise, we’re going to have this reputation of being a sleepy town that closes early at night,” Real added.
