North Park Vibes in Bankers Hill?
By Frank Sabatini Jr.
Coming later this year to the mixed-use Secoya by the Park apartment building in Bankers Hill is a 2,750-square-foot offshoot of North Park Beer Co. The brewery has earned numerous awards and accolades for its crisp and bold-tasting IPAs.
More than 10 years before opening the tap room in North Park, founder Kelsey McNair was brewing beer and developing the business out of his garage. When he opened commercially in 2016, he partnered with Mastiff Sausage Co. to offer a food component to the venture.
Fast forward to 2022, and he and wife Amanda recently signed a lease to operate their second San Diego location within the ground floor of the modern eight-story structure. They will arrive to Bankers Hill amid sudsy competition from nearby Corner Drafthouse and Pure Project, hence adding a nice craft-beer vibe to the neighborhood.
At this location, they will run their own kitchen within the sleek yet warm design filled with communal tables and a bar flaunting two dozen beer taps.
