Ready to let go of your freshly cut Christmas tree that has probably by now lost its shapely figure and natural pine scent?

The Golden Hill Recreation Center is among 16 spots within the City of San Diego where you can dispose of the trees for recycling. The newly launched eco-friendly program runs until Jan. 16. It turns the trees into high-quality mulch, which will then be made available for free at Miramar Greenery to San Diego residents.

The trees must be stripped of all decorations before dropping them off at any of these locations.
