Tea Time with Secret Sister
By Frank Sabatini Jr.
The beloved Rose Wine Bar in South Park has utilized an adjacent storage and event area for a tea house and bakery called Secret Sister.
Cranking out the goodies is pastry chef Neale Holaday, a New York City transplant who ran the pastry program at the former Michelin-starred Betony. In addition to seasonal fruit pies, scones and gourmet cookies, the cafe pours more than 20 different teas from all over the world. Some originate from the local tea curator, Paru.
Also, if you’re lucky enough to get your carb-thirsty hands on Holaday’s sourdough bread, the coveted loaves are naturally leavened and use a 150-year-old starter.
