‘This Old House in Little Italy’

There’s a boxy, two-bedroom bungalow dating back to 1888 on 1620 State St. tha will likely be razed for a fourth San Diego County location of The Fish Shop. Its exact fate has yet to be revealed. But either way we’re told a new structure is planned on its 5,000-square-foot lot within the next year.

The dwelling has held out rather admirably throughout Little Italy’s decade-long building boom. It currently shares the quaint block with Pappalecco, Black Market Barbershop, and Brazilia Skin Care.

The Fish Shop has locations in Pacific Beach, Point Loma and Encinitas. It offers casual settings and a variety of seafood that ends up in salads, tacos, sandwiches or plates.
