There are more than 70 independently owned businesses and hundreds of charming old homes dotting the tree-lined streets of South Park, a neighborhood that offers endless discoveries.

Thanks to the South Park Business Group, locals in and around the area can explore its boutiques, coffeehouses and eateries while mingling with their staff and owners during the group’s free, quarterly walkabouts.

The next walkabout is scheduled from 5:00 to 9:00p, July 13. Participants can check in at Wicked Fit or South Bark Dog Wash before embarking on an easy, non-rushed stroll that includes Fern, 30th, Beech, Ivy and Juniper streets, plus others. Several businesses typically offer product giveaways, food samples and beverages during the event, which further enhances the quaint, friendly feel of the neighborhood that every anti-gentrification city dweller craves.
