Knitting For An Important Cause in North Park

Join multi-media artist and social activist Linda Litteral at Art Produce at 3139 University Ave. for her monthly knitting circle focusing on an art project titled, “Remember.” The ongoing effort is a large-scale installation honoring those who have experienced sexual trauma.
It features hundreds of banners knitted by novices and pros alike. Each stitch honors an individual impacted by sexual violence. No experience is required for taking part in the collective artwork. In fact, it is a free opportunity for beginners to learn the craft with all of the supplies provided.
The sessions will be held from 1:00 to 3:00p on Sept. 12 and Oct. 24. The finalized work will then be presented at Gallery 825 in Los Angeles later this year, and at Grossmont College early next year. Contributors to the project will be acknowledged in the exhibition catalog.
