A Four-Day AIDS Walk is Coming Up
By Frank Sabatini Jr.
What has traditionally been an annual one-day event to raise funds for AIDS/HIV services throughout San Diego County has now expanded over the course of several days to give participants more options for taking part.
AIDS Walk and Run San Diego will be held this year from Sept. 23 through 26. It allows walkers and runners to either choose their own neighborhood routes, or opt for the traditional four-mile route through Balboa Park and Hillcrest. Registration is open to both individuals and teams by clicking onto the link above.
The event started in 1989. It is organized by the San Diego LGBT Community Center, which will hold an all-day community celebration for the cause with live music and commemorations on Sept. 25.
