Round n’ Round

No, it isn’t the absinthe-kissed Sazeracs that have you feeling like the bar you’re sitting at is slowly rotating. At the new Wolfie’s Carousel in Little Italy, the centrally placed circular bar really does turn, making a complete rotation every 14 minutes.

The drinking and eating establishment is sure to join the list of San Diego’s must-see places by locals and visitors alike—if only for its ornate visuals. The carousel-inspired centerpiece, which seats about two dozen customers, flaunts 400 light bulbs and beckons beautifully to some Parisian carnival in the late 1800s.

The nostalgic theme continues throughout a 2,500-square-foot space that was formerly home to an auto garage. The menu offers fine wines and champagnes and French-leaning cuisine that includes steak frites and a burger crowned with raclette cheese.
